Connecticut Facelift (Rhytidectomy)
Facelift Overview
The Connecticut Facelift (Rhytidectomy) is performed by surgically lifting and tightening facial and neck skin and underlying muscle as well as removing excess fat to correct a jowl-like appearance and smooth the deep creases from the base of the nose to the corners of the mouth. The Facelift is one of the most popular and satisfying cosmetic procedures. Over 100,000 Americans between their 20s and 90s will reverse some of the effects of sun exposure, gravity, aging and stress with a Facelift this year. If you are ready to "turn back the clock", you can appear more rested, healthier and vigorous.
At Imperial Plastic Surgery in Westport, a Connecticut Facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a neck lift, forehead lift, brow lift, eyelid surgery or nose shaping. Your final look should not be tight or expressionless and it should not be obvious that you have had a procedure. Together, you and Dr. Singer, a Board Certified Connecticut Plastic Surgeon, can determine the best procedures and timing to create your rejuvenated new look during your consultation at our Connecticut medical offices.
The ideal candidates for facelifts are men and women who have some excess and sagging skin on their face and neck. Sun exposure, stress, and even gravity contribute to the aging process in the face. Typically, people are between the ages of forty and sixty, but facelifts can be performed on patients much older with very successful results.
With any surgery, especially facelifts, it is important to talk with our Connecticut plastic surgeon, Dr. Singer regarding any medications you are taking. If you are a smoker, our surgeon will require you to stop smoking at least a month before doing a facelift. This is because smoking interferes with the supply of blood and oxygen to the skin, which will inhibit the healing process.
